Annie Petrie

Annie is a graduate of UC Davis and has been at Napa High School since 2004. She started her teaching career in 1998 at Dixon High School where she also coached Varsity Girls Basketball & Varsity Girls Golf. At Napa High School, Annie was the Dean of Activities for two years before becoming the Assistant Principal of Student Services in 2007. Outside of school, her interests are supporting her two children (Zoey, age 11 & Brody, age 10) in school, music, youth sports and most importantly raising them to be good citizens. At Napa High, her role is to shape the vision of academic success for all students, support all aspects of a large comprehensive High School, and ensure the safety of students and staff.

Peter is a graduate of the University of Southern California.  He began his teaching career in the Napa High School History Department and taught a variety of classes while at Napa High.  Peter has worked at the NVUSD District Offices and in the Vintage High School Administrative Office before being hired as Assistant Principal at Napa High School.  Peter has a three year old daughter and enjoys mountain biking, camping and fly-fishing.  At Napa High, his role is to lead the Student Services Department, supporting all students in becoming college and career ready.

Kate Gauger

Kate Gauger is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara.  She began her teaching career with San Diego Unified School district for 7 years, teaching Social Studies, English, ESL, AVID, PE, and coaching the Varsity Volleyball team. Kate and her family moved to Napa in 2005, and she began the second half of her teaching career with 3 years at New Tech HS and another 3 years at Redwood MS.  Most recently, Kate has served as a district Project Based Learning (PBL) coach, helping teachers to create innovative and engaging classrooms. Kate loves to garden, bike, hike, and spend time with her kids and husband.  At Napa High, her role is focused on helping students succeed in Advanced Placement (AP), supporting our Academic Tutor program, & our Leadership Academy Youth Leaders in Action (LAYLA) program.  Kate will support our teachers in inquiry based lesson design for Project & Problem Based learning.

Michael is a graduate of UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside and began his teaching career in 1996 with the Napa Valley Unified School District. He taught for six years at Napa High and three years at New Technology High Schools before leaving the country in 2005 to work overseas with the Department of Defense Education Activity. He returned to Napa High School in 2014 and worked as a teacher trainer for a year before being hired as an assistant principal. His enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two sons hiking, camping, and traveling.
