Athletic Spectator Protocols

Napa High School Student Athletes and Families,

After a successful first season of athletics, we are excited to launch season two athletic home competitions this week! In order to maintain a safe environment, we have updated indoor and outdoor spectator protocols by venue based on Napa County Public Health guidelines. Thank you in advance for adhering to these guidelines. We look forward to partnering with you in supporting our student athletes as they compete with victory and honor!

Napa High School Outdoor Guidelines

Mount Field, Softball Field, Swimming Pool, and Track and Field: 

  • Each student athlete will be able to bring up to TWO spectators to the contest.
  • Spectators at baseball, softball and track and field can bring lawn chairs for outfield seating while adhering to the physical distancing requirement.

Memorial Stadium: each student athlete will be able to bring up to SIX spectators to the contest.  
 

Napa High School Indoor Guidelines

Messner Gym:

  • Each student athlete will be able to bring up to FOUR spectators to the contest.  
  • Lower bleachers WILL NOT be used on either side of the gymnasium.  
  • Rows behind the student athletes will be sectioned off; spectators will not be allowed to sit in these rows.

Small Gym:

  • Each student athlete will be able to bring up to ONE spectator to the contest.  
  • Seating will be available on the east side of the gym only.

General COVID-19 Guidelines for All Venues  

Bathrooms: 

  • No more than 2 people in the bathrooms at one time.
  • At Memorial Stadium, the south bathrooms will be used by spectators.  The North bathrooms are reserved for student athletes.

Concessions: Concessions are not available due to COVID restrictions.  

Entry/Exit:

  • At the entrance to all venues except softball and track, staff will check off names on the roster as they arrive. There is no gate fee to attend competitions.  
  • At the softball and track venues, spectators will check in using the sign-in sheet.
  • If there is a JV and Varsity game, the facility will be cleared out after each game/competition.
  • There will be no in and out privileges during the competitions due to the check in procedures at the entrance.

Physical Distancing: 

  • TWO rows must be left vacant between used spectator rows
  • All members of the household must remain seated in the stands (6 feet from other households) throughout the contest unless they are using the restroom or leaving the contest.

Facing coverings: Face coverings are to be worn by coaches, support staff, and spectators at all times.  

Athletic Clearance Information

Athletic clearance is now open for ALL sports.  If you are planning on playing any sport in the spring semester, please sign up now.   You will need to sign up on Athletic Clearance and you will need to upload a completed physical form.  If you have had a physical in the last year, please get an updated signature from the doctor.

Parents & fans can buy a BOOSTER PASS and get in FREE to all home games and receive a discount to our VVAL league games!  

  • 1 pass = $70.00
  • 2 passes = $130.00
  • Reserves Seating = $100.00 (comes with a booster pass and a seat at the football stadium)
